KGG avslutter sesongen 2023 med et smell! Vi har gleden av å presentere kunstneren Hello the Mushroom, som kommer til garasjegalleriet på Kolbotn med utstillingen “I Clap When the Plane Lands». Utstillingen åpner og er åpen fredag 27. oktober 2023, fra kl. 19.00 til ca 22.00. One night only. Velkommen!

Hello the Mushroom is the pseudonym of Sara Lucas Olstad, a multidisciplinary artist from Lisbon, currently based in Oslo, by way of London. Their work can be found on the streets and in galleries in cities all over the world.

Their work spans from street art (pasteups and murals) to money art, collage, assemblage and textile art. The artist is interested in the idea of transforming existing materials, in creating something out of nothing, by utilising objects that would be otherwise discarded or considered surplus. As such, most of the work uses found materials and imagery. It takes a humorous approach to female empowerment, sexuality, body image and beauty standards as well as a lot of cats and rainbows.

Hello the Mushroom has exhibited in several galleries and participated in events all around the world, including Saatchi Gallery and Well Hung Gallery in London, UK as well as collaborated on several occasions with the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, UK, also having work as part of their permanent collection. They have also participated in several street art festivals over the years, including Hands Off the Wall in Vienna and Germany, Løkka Lykke street art festival in Oslo and the London International Paste-Up Festival. They are also currently teaching at DTK Kunstfagskolen i Bærum in Fornebu, Norway.
